Department of Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with the development, production and characterization of dosage forms, as well as the disposition of drugs in the body. Since inception of the college, Department of Pharmaceutics continues to provide modern undergraduate pharmacy education by combining science, technology, professional training and personal growth and development. It comprises of a well organized research wing which works to understand the safety, efficacy and biological action of different formulations and designing of novel drug delivery systems like sustained, controlled, transdermal, ocular, mucoadhesive and targeted drug delivery systems.

The Department has experienced and highly qualified faculty members who genuinely take care about the progress of our students and provide them with a distinguished learning experience, equip them with knowledge and practice and establish professional values of a pharmacist in each of them. In the Department of Pharmaceutics, faculty members and students work together to generate, apply and disseminate pharmaceutical knowledge in those fields.

Research scholars and post-graduate students are involved in research and avail the extensive resources available in the Department. Undergraduates are also provided an opportunity to be involved in research.

Our primary focus is to:

  • Enhance student satisfactions
  • Enhance faculty capability in Teaching and Research
  • Enhance academic results
  • Promote personality development of students
  • Enhance training of non-teaching staff

Objectives:

1) To train students to face the global challenges in pharmaceutical technology and make them reach out to newer technology with innovative techniques

2) To reach global standards in development, production and characterization of dosage forms and collaborate for better technology exchange.

3) To inculcate the habit of rational and scientific thinking and willingness to shoulder responsibility with resourcefulness and practical approach.

4) To design and develop the need based pharmaceutical education system, which caters for society and industry.
